National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

Cincinnati National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has been named one of the best history museums in the country.

The Freedom Center is one of 20 finalists vying for America’s Top 10 Today list of the “10 best history museums” in the country. Finalists for this People’s Choice Award are chosen by “a panel of experts and editors,” according to a statement from the Freedom Center, and the public votes to determine the winners.

This is the second year in a row that this Cincinnati museum has been nominated for this award. They finished second in 2021.

“We are honored to be recognized alongside so many wonderful organizations as one of the nation’s top history museums,” said Freedom Center President and COO Woodrow Keown, Jr. in a statement. “This nomination is further proof that the enduring legacy of freedom and freedom heroes is not only relevant, but essential to our shared cultural heritage. We hope that our community and Freedom Center supporters around the world will will go online to vote us the best history museum in the country.
